Salted herring with "housewife's sauce", "Grützwurst" blood sausage and "Mehlpüttknödel" yeast dumplings - the former VLET chef Thomas Sampl has combined his passions for traditional Hamburg cooking and for old cookery books to produce his own cookery book in collaboration with the graphic designer and photographer Nicole Keller.
"Hamburger Küche" presents more than 50 traditional recipes from the Hamburg region along with helpful information on the products, an entertaining patter, and of course the appropriate key to terms used in the Hamburg kitchen dialect. Available in German only.
